Phew, thats a relief....or is it?

Last you saw I was on route for 10 points. Ewwww. Well the good news is after 5 games I am already there. Game 4 gave our team a 1 goal loss, which I feel like I gave up. We pulled the goalie and I was in deep next to their goalie. Their guy came around the net with the puck and as I went to chase him down and take the puck I fell on my face. He was 2 feet away from me, within reaching distance. So we lost that one and that puts us at 1-3. I had 1 goal and 1 assist in that game which is frusturating to me only scoring 2 points a game. That would put me at 3 goals and 3 assists on the season. Anyways onto game 5. Right off the bat they scored to take the 1-0 lead. We scored soon thereafter. The game was tied at 1-1 with 4 minutes to go. Soon they scored to take the lead 2-1. With 2 minutes to go I got placed out there with our newly named captain. He hustled into the corner and passed the puck right on my tape. I gently moved my stick forward and the puck found the back of the net. Sweet that made it 2-2. With about 1 minute left I won the faceoff and the exact same thing happened again, except this time it was on the other side of the net. We were up 3-2 going into the intermission. One of our guys scored to give us the 4-2 lead then they got 3 and we were down 5-4 at the 2nd intermission. I had 2 goals and no assists, on route for another dissapointing 2 point game. We were down 7-4 with about 5 minutes left and after a time out we came out strong I won the faceoff and tapped it ahead to one of our guys who had 2 goals earlier in the game. That gave him the hat trick with 3 goals. I broke my 2 points a game streak and I had 2 goals and 1 assist. I got placed out there for the goalie when we pulled him. I tried to deke one of their guys and I turned it over, he had a wide open shot at the net. It felt like game 4 all over again. I turned around with a bit of anger and lifted his stick to give me the puck. I slap shotted it home to give our team a chance down 7-6 with 1 minute left. Quickly, I gained possesion after the faceoff and had a wide open path to the net. Ill switch it over to the play by play announcer now, " AJ comes in AJ shoots, it hits the post, thats the game" Game over we lost 7-6, but the good news for me is that it puts me at 10 points 5 games in, not exactly the dream season, but I have 6 goals and 4 assists and 0 penalty minutes. Thats it for now.

P.S. If I have time tommorow Ill write about something other then hockey....should be hard.

Games 2 and 3 go in the books

Last you heard we were undefeated at 1-0. That didn't last. We lost game 2 6-1 and as you can tell I dont want to talk about it. We had absolutely no offense whatsoever. We played the same team again for game 3 last night and being 1-1 we needed to make some serious changes. So to start the game off one of the new guys we were given this season scored his first goal of the year. Horay. Anyways, that lead didn't last and we were quickly down 2-1. With a late 1st period goal the game was tied up at 2-2. This was probably the hardest I've tried\skated in a game in the longest time, maybe even ever. So I was sitting there with nothing to show for it. They scored right away to take the lead back 3-2. Then we scored and the game was all tied up again at 3-3. I won the faceoff, but accidentaly gave it away. Following the new thing Im trying called "Skating" I forechecked and stole the puck. Around the net I came skating backwards and wrist shotted it for my 2nd goal of the year. It was probably my nicest one of the year. That gave us our 2nd lead of the game at 4-3. Shortly after this goal I tried the same thing again. I forechecked and stole the puck. The guy I stole it from was trying to block my path to the goal. I put the puck between my legs and passed it back. That was probably the best pass I made all season. It went right on the kids tape and he wrapped it around to give us the 5-3 lead. As usual that didn't last and we were down 6-5 at the end of the 2nd. They took the lead 8-5 and we needed a goal and fast. With 3 minutes remaining one of the kids on my team pulled the Michigan put us within 2. The score was 8-6 and we pulled the goalie. After multiple chances from me we were still down 2. I passed it to the point and the puck went back to our zone right on the tape of one of their guys. That was it, we lost 9-6. Here is the stats for this season for our team and myself.

GP W-L Points Goals Against Goals For Differential Goals Against Average
3 1 2 2 19 13 -6 6.333

And for myself

Games Played Goals Assists Points On Route for
3 2 2 4 5 goals 5 assists and10 points (Yuck!)

Here's to a better game tommorow!

Game 1 goes to......

The 1st game of our season was last night. As usual I was off on my 1st game. Bounces were not going right, I was not skating as well as I could've, and I had become cocky....yet again. So anyways at the end of the 1st period we were up 1-0 after a somewhat early goal. Our goalie kept us in it the entire game. With about 2 minutes to go down 3-2 after a pep talk from my dad I decided we should try to get a scoring run going. So right off of the face of I tipped it ahead to another player on our team and from there he did the rest getting me my 1st point of the season tying it 3-3 at the end of the 2nd. Right off the bat in the 3rd period they scored to give themselves the 4-3 lead. Less then a minute later we tied it back up 4-4 then got the lead on the next shift 5-4. So I was sitting there with 5 minutes to go in the game thinking, "What am I doing, I don't have a goal yet." In my opinon not getting a goal in a high scoring game is one of the most frusturating feelings in the world. So I skated around 4 of their players and popped it over the goalies shoulder to give us the 6-4 lead. So with 15 seconds left one of our players who only had one goal in his career before that put in his second one to give us the 7-4 win. So after one game we are
w-l
1-0
The first time we have ever been undefeated.

And after one game my point totals are

1 goal and 1 assist

Im on route for another 16 point season, which is not what I want, so hopefully I can do a little better next game. Thats about it. Our next game is on Tuesday the 20th.

Thankfully I'm not always right

Well my grades came in and they are as follow:

Algebra 2: A
Spanish 2: A
Torrey: B

Better then I thought it would be so that's always nice. After a long time of practicing hockey season is finally starting! Game 1 for our team will be at 8:15 tommorow (11\15 Thursday). Our team looks great this year and hopefully we will blow the league away, but no gurantees. So that is pretty much it, as you can see I haven't had too much going on to write about. But I promise that you will start seeing a whole lot more posts from me as hockey season is starting. Thanks for the read.

Update

School has been going fine. I need to be hustling on my term paper. I look a whole lot better this season, and I hope I would being 20 pounds lighter then last season. Now taking one more guy that left the league out that puts me at 1st in scoring :D. Not bad in my opinion. My grades for school for this quarter will probably be A in Algerbra, A in SPanish, and C in Torrey. The Torrey grade will be my worst ever, but the good news is that I can try to work it up to a B by the end of the 2nd quarter. I just signed up for facebook, so if you are on there then try to add me. Thats pretty much all I can think of. If you have any questions then please comment, thanks.

Hockey, School, and other stuff

So my dad and I went to the Red Wings vs. Ducks Game last Monday. It was a dissapointing loss at 6-3. I told my dad that if we sat by the penalty box we would've seen a lot more action. 17 penalties and 0 fights. Holmstrom had 5 alone. For my hockey team I look a lot better this season and so does our team. Our goalie looks great as well as our new aquisition on defense. Everyone else has improved as well. School has been going well. Torrey hasn't let up at all and is still being Torrey. I need to improve on my writing, but that's about all. In Algebra 2 it looks like I will earn an A for the Quarter. In Spanish 2 it looks like I will earn an A as well. As for Torrey it looks like I will earn a B. My diet is still going well. Even after eating out a whole lot more I'm still dropping weight, Today I was at 205.5 only a 1\2 pound over my lowest. So everything has been going pretty well. It is very windy today and Malibu has a nice fire going. Our back yard is almost finished. The grass is getting greener and greener everyday. I have a Precis due for Torrey on Tuesday that is going to be about 1,000 words. I am almost half of the way done and will be completely done by tommorow. We had practice yesterday and we only went for 2 hours :( . I have to tell you that I have a heck of a lot more endurance then last season. If it were last season I would have been wanting the end at 30 minutes into practice. I will be getting my permit in the next week or 2 so that should be nice. I definetely want to get it by December for 2 reasons.

1. To have my license by summer so I can drive myself around

2. So next summer I can go to the rink every single day!

So that's pretty much all I can think of. Sorry for taking so long to update.

Updates on School, Hockey, and everything that happened since Friday

Since Friday we have done more work on tearing out the fence in the backyard. We have also planted some new grass back there and are having lots of fun keeping the dogs off of it. For school we had this thing we had to do in preperation for our term papers. We had to come up with a title. And then we had to write 15 note cards where we cited stuff from books. We did the note cards, which stressed me out, before our title was even approved. So Im sitting here with 15 note cards on a subject that Im not sure if Im going to be writing about. Thankfully it was approved and the next step is to come up with a thesis statement. So the update on hockey is that my youth team picked up the 3 time defending #1 goalie and one of the best defenseman in the league. So that's always nice. I've now lost 17 pounds on my diet which brings me down to 208.5. And thats after eating a lot of pizza last night. So I think that's everything. Thanks again for reading and Ill try to keep you as updated as I can.

Still cant think of a title.

Well The Wings edged out over the Ducks 3-2. Its just to bad we had to go to a shootout. I wish we could've taken care of it in regulation. Ive been drowned out with schoolwork recently. But the good news is that Im doing well (notice I didn't say good ;) ) . Im pretty positive that Im going to get straight A's this quarter. Or at least I hope so. As far as my youth team goes. We look like we are going to get the #1 goalie from last season to add to our squad. But that might be all we add. We are probably going to end up with 6 guys and 1 goalie. I actually would like that better then adding a new guy. If you take out everyone that's leaving from last season I would've finished 2nd in scoring (I finished 7th last season). Not to bad in my opinion. So I started the fantasy league. Sorry to any of you that didn't join. It should be fun. Thanks for tuning in for another post.

(Insert creative title here)

Well let's try to recap since last wednesday. Not to much has been going on. I had school on Thursday. My mom's birthday was thursday. Hockey season starts wednesday (The Detroit Red Wings vs. The Anaheim Ducks) it should be a good game, but Detroit will edge out 6-4. As far as the fantasy league goes, sign up soon as I will hit the auto draft button on Tuesday night at 9:30. You may have seen some of my earlier posts where Ive been talking about my diet and how much Ive lost. Im only going to give you milestones on that one now. Im at 210 with a total of 15 1\2 pounds lost. I've got another 2 papers due for Torrey tommorow. Well I guess you really should call it one considering that one is a re - write. We watched the Ducks\Kings games on Saturday and Sunday. The Kings won game one and the Ducks won game 2. That's basically it. Thanks for reading and tune in for my next post which will hopefully be tommorow.

Since Saturday

As I've already told some of you. I went to the Angels game on Sunday when they clinched the division. It was pretty fun. Right after the game we headed over to Dromo 1. An indoor go kart track. It was fun. I finished 9\10 but 8 of the 10 had already raced before. I started 7 seconds after my friend whom I beat by about 2-3 seconds. I had a lot of fun there. After that we headed straight to Red Lobster. I had the endless shrimp starting with Buffalo Shrimp and Fried Shrimp. That was fun as well. We pulled up the carpet this past weekend and have hard wood floors throughout the house now(besides my parent's room). So Monday was my schools picture day and while I was there I got a call from another one of the players on our team saying he cant play this year either *pulls all his hair out*. Now all together this season we've lost our goalie (okay not that bad of a loss), the kid who should have been our leading scorer(missed 3 games and only finished 4 points behind me), and now we have lost another kid who came up big in the playoffs with 2 goals and 1 assist (we only scored 5 goals that game). Anyways, its not the end of the world yet. Yesterday I got my first paper from torrey back. I got a 64.2\100 *trys to pull his hair out again, but realizes he's bald*. Luckily we have a re-write that we can do. So my dad decided to go to hockey giant yesterday. I went with him and decided to add another $20 to the order with a Red Wings Practice jersey. Ive wanted one of these for at least 6 years and now I finally have one. Thanks dad! Now as I said in the P.S. section of my post on Saturday, Im going to start a Fantasy Hockey League. Here is the info on that:

League ID #:69843

This is all under Yahoo Fantasy Hockey

Password for the league, you will need it to be able to enter as it is a private league: ajsblog

If you have time please sign up and rank players for the autodraft. The league will pick randomly for who drafts first and your ranks will decide where you draft. Thanks, and good luck!

Finding a need to stay on top of this blog......

Wow, I really need to try and stay on top of this blog. I keep on waiting 2-3 days or more to post. So.... Im working on a hockey card set called 2006\2007 SPx. I only have 21 of the 71 cards left to go. I kinda like the rainy days for some reason. The year when it rained a lot was probably the most fun year of my life. I went to the National with my dad the next summer. I played hockey in the rain out in the street on multiple occasions. My friend and I would put leaves in the gutter and see which one would win. One day we made snow balls from a snow machine. We decided to see if we could make one in my chimney for a soda bet. I won.... Mark came running out 1 minute later, saying what has become his catchphrase "AJ....." I wanna tell my cousins Kelly and Aaron congratulations on having their 2nd daughter this past week. I also wish them all the best. As you can tell from how random Im being, there isn't to much going on here. Besides the fact that we pulled up the carpet today. I also got a hair cut today. It's a lot shorter and I like it better this way. We went to the Angels game on Thursday night. It was a pretty good game. Early in the game they tried to hit Mathis in the head, but they missed. Guerrero came up a little later and they aimed for his head. So Guerrero stared down the pitcher and the umpire warned both benches. So the next pitch comes and Guerrero hit it out to "Tim Salmon's Pond." The next time Guerrero came up they tried to hit him in the head again. He walks out there pointing at the pitcher and both benches cleared. Lackey seemed to be leading the charge. Not to many punches were thrown, but both bullpens emptied and security was on the field next to the stands trying to hold them all back. The Angels won 9-5 so it was a pretty good game. They were playing the Mariners by the way. So that's about it. Im going to fan appreciation day tommorow so that should be fun. Thanks for tuning in!

-AJ

P.S. I want to start a Fantasy hockey league on Yahoo, so let me know by commenting here if you want to join. The League ID and Password will be on here in my next post.

Between then and now

Not too much has really been going on.........Okay, maybe some stuff. Let's take a flashback to last year when I was briefed on what Torrey would be like. Here's what the guy said, "We arent going to read 2 books a week or anything like that and we aren't going to push you off of the bus running." Sounds good for back then, right? So 1 week into the school year here is what I've had to do.

Read and take notes on the book of Genesis
Listen to 6 hours of Hermaneutics lectures
Do Writing lab quizes A, B, and C as well as assignement A
Read Mere Christianity
Write a Precis on Mere Christianity

Now I know it's school, and I know its an honors program, but they could've told us what it was going to be like instead of telling us something it's not and throwing this stuff at us.

Okay, deep breath....... Anyways, I have been able to handle all that stuff and have had perfect scores on everything so far in school.

Yesterday the Math Teacher said that Quiz days are also candy days. IMHO wait until after the class to give the kids candy.

Spanish 2 is more fun then I thought it would be. It's kind of difficult, because she talks in Spanish most of the time, but it's not called English 2 for a reason ;).

So after I got home from school it was time for the dreaded dentist appointment. Let's take another step back and look at my last 3 dentist appointments. In all 2 of the 3 Ive had 2 cavities and in the other I had 1. And the part I hate the most is when they stick that sharp thing into your cavitie. You cringe and they say " Oh Im sorry, did I hurt you?" And you try to answer by saying yehhh. Then before you can finish saying it they poke your cavitie again. Anyways, I thankfully had no cavities this time. I cant tell you how many times Ive been in a chair like that. Between braces, wisdom teeth, and Dentist appointements I wouldnt be surprised if it were more then 50.

So anyways I really needed to vent and thanks for the free therapy.

Another couple of days

So on Wednesday we went to Sal's with my Uncle, Cousin, and my Grandma. We stayed there for a couple hours then we decided to head home. We stayed at our house for another hour then they left and I headed off to bed. Thursday was another school day. I was able to work ahead on 2 days worth of math so I had nothing to do today. I probably should be working on Torrey and Spanish 2 though..... Anyways, we headed down to the rink last night and messed around for a couple of hours while watching the Bronze Championship while taking breaks at some points. That was fun and always is. Today I weighed myself expecting the worst after eating out on Wednesday and having more pizza on Thursday. I weighed 213.5 so Im down another pound!!! Only 13.5 more pounds to go to get where I want to be.

My first real day of the school year

I updated yesterday talking about Torrey. After that I had Algebra 2. The home work was really easy. I did it all during study hall. Yesterday I also found out that the dream team that we all wanted to put together has lost 1 player. One of our players decided he wants to play at Coast 2 Coast instead. So we are going to get another player to replace him. As far as a goalie goes for next season, we are still unsure. Our goalie from last season isn't playing this year for us. We were going to get the defending goalie title winner but the league owner said no. Maybe without Jake he will let us. My father and I went to the 2nd game of the chapionship series last night and watched Ricardelli vs. Cox. Cox had a full roster (8 skaters and a goalie) while Ricardelli had 4 skaters. I was thinking about bringing my gear but I decided not to. So Ricardelli got a sub who led the league in scoring last year. The kid ended up scoring 3 goals total. With 5 seconds to go his team went in on a 2-1. The pass came right on his tape and he hammered in the game winner. Not only was it the game winner, but it was the Championship winner. So that was my day yesterday.

-AJ

P.S. Im down to 214.5!!!

It's been a while

Sorry it took me so long to update. By taking information from last post you would probably assume that we are 1 game into the championship series. But it didn't happen that way. We lost our playoff game 11-5. Now I feel as if I should lay the blame on my teammates. But if you look at the goals they scored, it wasn't their fault. Was it my fault? Partially. I had one point all game and it was one assist. Then it must have been our goalie, right? Again, partially. But I lay the most blame on their team. They scored the most goals, its as simple as that. Every time we would get momentum we would spit it back out by letting in another goal. I always see way to much balme laid at ourselves in losses like that. But what if we won that game 11-5. We would simply say that it was a hard fought game on our part and 3 of those 5 shouldn't have gone in. In the words of Darren McCarty" Why does one goal bounce of 2 players skates, bank off someone's butt hit both posts then go in?" McCarty finished off by saying"Well that's hockey." Yes it was a loss we shouldn't have had, but we also learned from that game. The bounces might go the other way next season. Anyways, onto my life. We practiced the next day (My dad, mark, and I) and we had plenty of fun. Saturday we headed down to my Aunt's house and I spent most of the day in the pool. Sunday was the girl across the street's going away party so we stayed for that after going to First Service in the morning. I had my first day of Torrey today and Ill have to admit that I liked it. I get about a 1:30 break between classes so that's what I am doing here. I weighed myself today and after being at 219.5 last week I am now down to 216.5 again! I am back on my diet and am determined to get below 210 before practices and below 200 before the season. Thanks for tuning in!

STAR Orientation and some other stuff

My dad and I went up to the hockey rink last night, but Ricardelli was practicing so we couldn't play. Today was STAR Orientation. I have a first period class, a third period class, and a sixth period class, so my day is pretty spread out. All of my teacher's seem nice. So that's that. We have THEE playoff game tonight, which is our chance for ultimate revenge. I might talk to their captain before the game and tell him to let me know if anything dirty is going on, and to expect the same from me. Wish us luck and I hope we can pull off a win!!!

9\4\07

Yesterday, all my troubles seemed so far away......oh wait that's a Beatle's song. Yesterday I was stressing out over some Torrey home work that I thought would be due tommorow (Thursday) when I found out today after reading the syllabus that it's not due until Tuesday. That was a pleasent surprise. I was in my backyard yesterday and decided to lay out the 30 ft. black tarp and use it as a slip and slide. After almost slipping on the cement I decided just to lie down in it for a while. My dad came home and I begged him to take me to the rink and watch the other gold division playoff game. It turns out that the Green team won so if we win tommorow then we will play Ricardelli in the finals. I sure hope we win, I already have a playoff... well I guess you can't really call it a beard because there's not enough of it, but I have something growing. Maybe I could grow a playoff unibrow. So that's basically every thought that has run through my head recently and everything I did yesterday. Tune in tommorow to see how exciting my last day of summer was.

Yet another Recap

Let's see if I can remember it all. Last time I updated was almost 1 week ago after I was pumper from that big game. Other stuff I realized after that was I broke two Idiot records. Most Points in a single season and most assists in a single season. We are going to play that team whom we shall not speak of (Cox). I guess you can say it's poetic justice if we win. Should be an interesting game. Hopefully nothing else starts and we can focus all of our anger towards making them look bad because of many goals. So Brad met up with us at the beach on Thursday 8\30\07. When he got there we went to go play some more Baseball. Nothing to exciting happened. We headed back for lunch. My dad showed up and we had lunch then he went back to work and we went down to the beach. There were some pretty big waves out there again, but the water was freeeeeeezing cold. I was saying upper 40's but now Im thinking lower 50's. It was still pretty darn cold for a 100 degree day. Brad went home then we sat around the campfire and stuff. Then we went to bed and woke up at 7 the next day. we got packed up and out of there before 9:30. That's a record for being out of there for us, usually they aren't even up until 11 or so. When I got home I did some homework, watched some T.V. and checked to see if they updated the scoring yet, they still haven't. Mark came home and we had Mc'Donalds. We had practice on saturday ( It was extremely hot, it was over 100 out there. We went through water like we were fat dogs eating their food. The practice lasted about 1 hour and a half. We came home that day and had some pretty darn good ribs, which my dad made. On Sunday we went to Church and then came home and watched T.V. all day. Around 7 or so we got our chairs out and sat down with Pete and Erhma to talk. Monday (Labor day) I woke up and we went to the rink almost right away. I was stupid and decided not to eat anything before we left. When we got there I downed 3 water bottles right away. I was sitting on the bench thinking I was dehydrated. I felt nauseus and dizzy. Then I got water logged and felt sick again. Shortly after I realized I was in need of some sort of protein. So when we got home I had some pretzel's and did some more Torrey work. I went online to see what was due and one of my assignments said "LATE". So I thought if I did it they might realize the error and correct it. Then the assignment said "OVERDUE" . I was freaking out. That could change my grad by 10 %(You get a 5% Extra Credit bonus if you turn everything in on time and if you don't then you lose 5% off of your final grade). Today when I woke up I went to check it and it said on time. I was more then relieved. Yesterday afternoon we went to Mrs. Knotts for Linner. It was pretty good to say the least.
Well that's pretty much it, Ill try to get to updating daily. When school starts back up I will be updating on the weekends or whenever I get a chance.

-AJ

P.S. Im back down to 217 hopefully I can get to at least 210 before next season, maybe even 200.

8\28\07

Well yesterday I was pretty tired all day. I took one nap that wasn't too long. So as if to add insult to injury we only had 6 players at our game. Shortly after the start of the game, Brad and I went in on a 2 on 1. I passed it to Brad and Brad hammered it in there. I was only one point back from tying Jacob. I stole the puck from one of their players and snapped it just under the crossbar for one sweet goal. At that point, Jake and I were all tied up for the team lead in scoring. That gave us the 2-0 lead. At the end of the 1st the score was all tied up 3-3. In the 2nd period Brian called for a pass, he was all by himself down low. I passed it to him and he scored. I achieved what I wanted to do all night! The score was 4-3 our lead again! At the end of the 2nd it was 5-4 we were down again. Start the 3rd period, Gabriel on their team came towards me and tried to dump it down. I kicked at it and shot in on a 1 on 2. I deked both of there players and shot top shelf to tie the game up at 5. Jordan or Justin scored shortly after to give us the 6-5 lead. Then they tied it up at 6. My dad puts my line out there and guess who did the same thing again. Well Ill give you a hint, this blog is about me not other people on my team ;). I faked out 3 or 4 players this time though and wristed it home. Top shelf! The Hot Wings were up 7-6 with about 5 minutes to go. This was the last game of our season and Jeremy still hadn't scored even including the season before. Jeremy got a beautiful pass and fired it over the goalie's shoulder. Definetely the most excited person was his dad, coach Joe. That gave us the 8-6 lead. They decided to pull their goalie when my dad put me on defense. I wristed it from our blue line and scored my 4th goal to make the final score of 9-6. For thos of you keeping track I ran off with the socring lead and won by 4. As I said last post I had 2 points after the first 4 games. So what a way to finish the season off. I guess I can say this season was better than last years. The final tally for my points is 10 Goals 6 Assists 16 points and
0 PIM.

Im headed back to the beach. Ill see most of you later.

Friday we basically did nothing all day again until 5 or so when we headed to Jake's house for his party. We stayed there for 4-5 hours then headed home around 11 and went back to sleep again. Now I don't remember to much about what we did on Saturday but I do remember that I spent some time with Mark again and begged other people on our street if we could go swimming and I packed clothes for San Clemente. Sunday was another fun day. We headed to Church at 10:30 and got back at 1:30 or so. I finished packing, threw my bike in the SUV and we headed to Jimmy's house. Originally the plan was to leave around 1:00 but instead we left closer to 3:00. We swung by his friend Darren's house and picked him up for a day. In the car I read the best seller Up Up Down by Robert Munsch. Probably one of the best Children's books I've read in a while. Now when I start to talk about the waves there you might think that I am exaggerating, but Im not, check the surf report if you want. The waves were 5-7 Feet tall with a few 7 footers crashing right in front of my face. That night we decided to go on the trail there around 9:00 or so. We packed our jackets full of peanuts and headed down. We were led to the beach and walked down it to see if we could get to the far end of it. We were about 1-2 miles away when decided to turn around (aprx. 9:45) the beach closes at 10:00. Im not sure if they gate it off or what. I never knew a beach could close. Do the waves stop? Im just kidding. Monday I woke up around 8:30 or so and we decided to play 1 on 1 on 1 baseball. Darren, Jimmy's friend, moved about 2 MPH in the outfield so I scored 6 runs on that. We played with a tennis ball and when I was pitching I made two sweet catches. One of them was to keep my face the way it looks. We packed the SUV and took Darren to CCCM. When we got back (around 5) we went back in the water. The waves weren't as big as the day before, but I still caught some sweet ones. Last night there was a lunar eclipse around 2:00 A.M. When I went to bed at 11 it was really bright because of the moon angled towards our tent. Then I woke up at 4:00 A.M. and it was very dark out. I assume this was because of the eclipse. So I woke up again for good at 7:30 or so. When Jimmy went to go take a shower around 8:30 I decided to go for a random bike ride and see where I ended up. I decided to go down the trail we walked on two nights before. That thing was so steep I had to walk my bike down the entire way, but I decided to ride it back up. So fast forward to when we went back to CCCM so Jimmy could take his school pictures. I had a nice :30 minute nap or so then they dropped me back off at my house. When I got home I watched some T.V. then decided to hop on the intreweb. I checked the scoring updates and in 2 updates Ive gone from 16th to 9th. I should be able to lead the team in scoring. Im down 2 on Jake and he is missing this game. If Jordan and Justin don't catch me, I should be good. Definetely not the season I was expecting 3 games in when I had 2 assists and thats it. Now I am at 6 goals and 4 assists. Still not the golden season, but better then earlier this season. My big problem was my weight. Which I will update in tommorow's post when I talk about my game. Last time I said wish me luck there was a fight so I won't say that this time. I hope you all are having a nice day and thanks once again for tuning in.

Another 2 goal game

Yesterday was another beach day. So we left our street at around 11:00 A.M. Somebody told me the waves were supposed to be 4-6 feet now I'm not going to mention any names *coughs Brad* but they weren't. We brought "the raft" and took it out in the water. I was in it by myself once and a wave shot me like 3 feet in the air, it was sweet. Another time, Matt and I were carrying the Raft out past where the waves were breaking and a giant wave (maybe 3-4 feet) came straight at us and crashed on us. I thought I could jump it, but I was wrong. I went straight up then straight down and the raft went down the beach. I didn't catch any spectacular waves at the beach on my boogie board, but that's okay. When we got home we decided to go swimming at Schulyer's (I probably spelled it wrong yet again*rolls eyes*) We were there for a good 1-2 hours. We played some Marco Polo then we played some find the Kong Toy. Right after that we headed to Rite Aid\KFC. I picked up a few snackers and then we headed out. We went over to Jacob's house and hung out for a while there. Of course nobody was home so we called Jacob's Secretary A.K.A. Dominic to see what was going on. They thought our game started at 7:15 when it really started at 8:15. So they told Jeremy that and he was there early. So we decided to head down there early as well. We hung out for an hour then geared up. To start the game off we started the PBBJ line. Again the AJJJ line dominated with a combined 7 goals including the game winner in our 8-7 victory. We were down 5-1 in the 2nd or 3rd period (I dont remember which period it was) and I was thinking "Okay we're never going to come back from this." Shortly after Jacob, Patrick, Justin and I scored. Before I knew it we were down 7-6 with 3 minutes to go in the game. Jacob comes in on a one on one and flutters a little on the ground spinner which just barely got underneath the goalie's armpit. Nobody could see that it was in until Jake skated behind the net and raised his stick. The ref signaled goal and the crowd went wild. My dad changed the line up when there was 2 minutes remaining. Out went Jordan, Jeremy, Justin and I. We barely held them off, but with about 10 seconds to go I got caught in a pickle. Lay down my body for the team or let in a goal. I made a kick save it went right back to the player and he shot two right back into my ribs, thankfully the shots weren't to hard. As I got up when time expired I couldn't even here myself talking the crowd was so loud. To start off overtime my dad put Jake, Jordan, Justin and I out there with Justin and Jake playing Defense. Chris on their team came in and our back up goalie Dylin made a nice save Jake sent it up to Jordan, we were on a 2 on 1 and I was hoping that Jordan wouldn't pass it because my stick was tied up. Jordan shoots top shelf just underneath the crossbar. I was there waiting for the rebound, but thankfully there was none. We finally won a game!!!!! There's yesterday's recap.

8\22\07

Yesterday as I was updating my blog UPS came by and dropped of my box of hockey cards which I was waiting for, for almost a week. The real reasons why I bought that box were because I needed more stuff to make trades with. I had fun opening up the box, but there were only 3 cards in there that I needed. They were a Valterri Filppula Rookie, an Alexander Ovechkin Rookie, and a Ryan Getzlaf rookie. Last night, my father and I headed down to the rink to work on our games. I have to say that I have more endurance then last week. We did this drill that's really tiring and I wasn't anywhere nearly as tired as I was the week before. Today we are going to Bolsa Chica State Beach and the waves are supposed to be 4-6 feet. Tonight we have a game against Ricardelli which starts at 11:15 P.M. Eastern Time.

Thanks for reading!

8\21\07

Yesterday I watched some T.V. all day again. Then we went to the beach party around 4 and left around 6:30. The waves were pretty big, in fact I had some trouble getting out there due to some holes on the ground. When I got home we had a scout meeting at my house which lasted about 2-3 hours with only about 1 hour talking about scouts. That was my boring day yesterday. I hope today is a lot more exciting as well as tommorow(Hockey game at 8:15). Here's my schedule for the next week.

Wednesday: Hockey Cards arrive
Thursday: Beach and Hockey Game (8:15)
Friday: Jacob's birthday party
Saturday: Hang out with mark some
Sunday-Friday Beach
Tuesday: Hockey Game 8:15

My cards just arrived!

Thanks for tuning in!

8\20\07

A few updates. Im down to 216.5 on my diet which puts me at 9 pounds lost since the beggining. So yesterday I went to Los Sanchez for lunch and ordered the Al Pastor Torta with papas fritas. It was a pretty good sandwich, but it went right through me. Onto the hockey game. We put Jacob, Jordan, Justin, and I on the same line to start. With Justin being the only defenseman. Almost right away I scored to give us the 1-0 lead. They quickly turned that around until the 3rd period when I put us within one. So I come off and have some water. Then almost as soon as I stood up #15 on their team started going bazurk (did I spell that right ?) he cross checked probably the nicest guy on our team three times then decided to throw a few punches. From what I've heard my friend Brad also threw a few punches. What provoked #15 after an elbow was thrown at Brian he said "What's your problem." Then he went off on him. Almost all of the men in the stands poured outside the corner where all of this was going on. For those of you that don't know, 5 of the kids on our team are cousins so most of their family go to the games. While all this was going on we were still down by 2. All of the penalties got sorted out and here's what they got.
Their team:
#15 2 minutes for elbowing, 2 minutes roughing, 2 for holding and 5 for fighting with an additional match penalty(game misconduct.)
#34 Third man in Match Penalty.

Our team:
#7 5 minutes for Instigating

This probably wasn't all of the penalites. It seemed like pandemonium in the stands people shouting left and right. Thankfully no punches or anything like that were thrown. Now in result of this incident we are considering either moving our team somewhere else or just folding the team. If we fold the team, hopefully we can resurect it in the Adult league when we are all at least 18.

Goals from last night are as follows:

Justin:1
Jordan:1
Jacob:1
Me:2

A couple of days to recap

Okay, we'll start off with Saturday. Basically what I did all day was lay around watch T.V. and mess around on the computer. So Sunday comes around. I went to the Plotz's Church. It was a good service and a great message. After that we headed out to Huntington Beach. Right after lunch Matt, Ron, Jonathan and I headed out into the water. The waves were pretty big and kept looking better. All of the sudden in the blink of an eye it got so foggy you couldn't even see the beach from where I was in the water. The waves were 3-4 feet prior to the fog then when the fog came in they doubled. Giant waves left and right. Then the fog rolled back and everything was back to normal. When I got out we started a Baseball game I was 3-4 hitting 2 doubles and a single and scoring every time I was on base. My team won 14-0 we pretty much owned. Im anxiously awaiting another box of hockey card which should be here any day now. Ill tell you about that later when I get it. Oh yeah, and during the baseball game I slid and popped my shoulder or something. It's still a little sore but I should be okay for my game tonight. Wish me luck!

The day I was to have my permit (8\17\07)

Yesterday was a pretty long day yet again. I laid down and watched TV for about 4 hours. Went to lunch at McDonald's. Did you know their burger patties are gray? Anyways, we went to Biola again and had a very nice dinner, then some great Cheesecake. We checked out my brother's dorm and then headed home. As for what the title says, I am now 15 1\2 and could've had my permit yesterday. Kind of a busy week headed my way with being at the beach all day tommorow and going to Church with the Plotz's. Monday should be fun as well. We have another game and we are putting a big line up front to start out.

Thanks for tuning in again!

Days at the beach and Torrey Orientation

First off I have to say......WOW!?!?! Long day yesterday, let's see if I can remember it all. Okay, it started off with me waking up to my friend Jimmy at the door at 9:00....exactly. We hung out for a while until we left for the beach at 11:00. It was a pretty nice day at the beach. Probably the nicest waves I've ever seen at Bolsa Chica. But man were we drifting to the left fast. We were at lifeguard tower # 17 and we ended up at #15 twice. 15 is closest to the rocks some people I was with, were told to get out of the water, twice. I got a couple of nice waves with a quite a few waves that weren't anywhere nearly as good as I thought they were going to be. Yesterday was the first time ever that I had my board ripped off from my hand by a wave. One of the nice waves I caught looked like I was going to hit the bottom hard, because I was on the top of a four foot wave and it just started breaking right where I was. Anyways, onto Torrey Orientation.Kind of a long story with Torrey, I over estimated it, under estimated it, and now Im back to over estimating it again. Wow that's a lot of work in one class. It should be fun though. We arrived on campus at 6:45 caught up with my brother(for those of you that don't know, the orientation was on Biola's campus and my brother goes to Biola) for a brief moment. The orientation started at 7:00, I was expecting it to end around 7:45 or 8:00. When you get a break 1 hour in you know your in for it. So we got a 10 minute break at 8:00 (when I thought we would get out). We come back in around 8:15 and get back to "work". So they start giving us this long "tech talk" about how to use their website and stuff. We finally ended that and as soon as they did at least 20 people jumped up and left, this was around 9:00. I wasn't sure if I could last much longer. So just for my convinence they started another Microsoft powerpoit program. So we finally got out of there around 9:40 ish. Between hockey, Church, School, and more School, don't be surprised if you don't see me a whole lot. We met up with Mark to see his new dorm room, it was pretty small. We got out of his dorm around 10:15 and left the parking lot around 10:30. I got home and fell asleep on contact with my bed. That was my day and a long one at that. The best part about it is that we get to go back there again tonight for my brother's dinner orientation thing. Check in tommorow to see how that went.

Thanks for the view!

8\16\07

Yesterday was pretty much an average summer day for me. I laid down, watched some TV, and maybe rolled over a few times. Until 3:00 hit, get this, my mom told me I had to take a "shower." After my weekly shower we headed down to Wycliffe Associates, where I am eyeballing an Eagle Project. We met up with Bill Byars and took a little "What's wrong with our building" tour. It looks like if I get the project approved I should easily get the 100 hourse minimum required. So anyways fast forward a little bit to after dinner. My dad and I decided to go down to the rink and work on some endurance for me. For those of you that don't know, my game has gone way down hill over these past 2 seasons. My point total for the past 2 regular seasons is 13 goals and 4 assists (11 goals and 0 assists last season and 2 goals and 4 assists this season). Anyways, last night I finally found out what was wrong with my game. My head wasn't staying up like usual. I've been 0-3 on breakaways this season. Usually I would be 3-3. So we did a few drills that were very tiring. One drill where we had to skate around the circle every time we shot. So I did that about 12 times. My dad the same. So all in all it was a fun day. Stay tuned for tommorow's post where I tell you about Torrientation and a day at the beach.

Mark's Out!?!?!??!?!?!?

As of monday, my older brother, Mark, has moved out. My life has been improving since then. Both of my parents have been very appriceative of me and my output recently. Joking around I was counting down the day until he moved out. I realize that it is a lot more quiet around here since he has moved out. I was thinking, "Yes I'm going to get so much more sleep!" But as Mark has proven time and time again, I can be wrong. I woke up at the crack of 8:30 two days in a row, but today I slept in until 9:00 today. As some of you already know, I sleep with a 100 pound weight on my legs. That weight is my Chocolate Lab, Kobe. This dog has to be one of the greatest companions ever. For Example, I am writing this right now and he is keeping my feet warm underneath the desk. We also have one more dog, Thor. We think that Thor has some sort of Mental Retardation. He is a great dog, but he can't control himself sometimes. Quite a few times I've tackled him to the ground to break up the fight between him and Kobe. Thor is the kind of dog who is always trying to please you, but he rarely does. Im looking forward to our hockey game coming up this monday. I have been on a diet for almost a week now in order to get my "game" back. I really haven't been playing up to my standard this season. My current scoring is 2 goals and 4 assists. I hope to get a whole lot more points here soon. Well thanks for the read, feel free to comment.
